Katherine J. Ford is a Wisconsin watercolor artist whose paintings explore the quiet stories found in fly fishing, nature, and ordinary objects. Her work often focuses closely on details that might otherwise be overlooked—a fish’s eye, a hand holding a catch, a well-used reel, a beautifully tied fly, or objects gathered on a workbench.
Rather than simply documenting a subject, Katherine uses watercolor to capture its character, atmosphere, and sense of place. Her work ranges from small, intimate original paintings to larger narrative pieces, with a particular emphasis on fly-fishing subjects and outdoor experiences.
Original watercolors are available for purchase, and Katherine also accepts a limited number of commissions. Her work has been shown at art and outdoor events and is collected by anglers, outdoor enthusiasts, and people who simply enjoy thoughtful representational watercolor.
