Being a botanist, I just had to incorporate plants, which I grow in my land, into my work. Each pot contains these impressions - which look much like vivid fossils. My pieces are thrown on a potter's wheel, plants are pressed in, and after bisque firing, are enhanced with oxide stains, frequently glazed, and then fired again to finish them. All are functional, yet I'm happy if they are simply considered "art".
